Contrary to popular belief that we Filipinos lack vision or focus, we do have lofty ideals, long-term goals and bull-headed persistence.
I guess, this misconception (by people who do not fully understand us) is borne out of our cheerful nature and sunny disposition. That they perceive us incapable of being serious; because we have an insatiable appetite for humor and laughter!
For, at the very core of our soft shells lie a spirit of relentless perseverance; ever so keen on mastery of our craft, developing our industries and achieving perfection. It is in this spirit that took us so long to finally decide to launch our website; a plenary resolution passed by the different alumni organizations (in 2005) on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the International Association of Traffic & Safety Sciences (IATSS) Forum in Suzuka, Japan.
Because we wanted it perfect the first time, we were apprehensive on actually taking off. That took time…
Realising, therefore, that nothing can be perfect (nor permanent), we have decidedly pursued the design, operationalization and soft launch of our site.
Thus, after numerous discussions, several attempts and almost five (5) years of waiting, we are proud to announce the launch of the IATSS Forum Alumni, Philippines Website!
It is not perfect. It is a work-in-progress. And, in its imperfection is a window of opportunity to develop further, link up with other IATSS Forum alumni sites and Japan; as well as forge networking opportunities with relevant sites of similarly intentioned organizations.
